Emergency Medical Technician Course
7 week residential course covering ambulance technician training modules D, E & F, accredited by the Institute of Healthcare Development, (IHCD) through Edexcel.
(Students must also complete an approved ambulance driving course including the class C1 D1)
Course synopsis:
- Anatomy and physiology of the respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous, skeletal and gastrointestinal systems
- Clinical examination and assessment.
- Management of trauma / injury and illness of these systems.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Lifting and Handling.
- Special cases: maternity, children, major incident, poisoning.
Positions may be available within ERS following successful completion of the course, to give you work and gain clinical experience as a Qualified Ambulance Technician (QAT).
